About Me
Hi! I'm Hayley, the founder and creative force behind Artfully Crafted Studio. As far back as I can remember I have been a maker. In fact, many would say our first studio was the unfinished basement of my childhood home! But, as I got older I felt pushed to make things society would value. So, I became an engineer! All the while, I continued to spend every little bit of my free time following my heart's desire to craft outside of the lines so often found in STEM! Many years later I realized that the hobby I pursued in my free time had become my passion. Artfully Crafted Studio was founded to bring the joy of crafting to you. I can't wait to share it with you!
MY STORY
Crafting has always been a part of my life, with much of what I know coming from the people close to me who shared their favorite hobbies during holidays and long weekends. It was clear from a young age that making things was in my future, so I pursued a degree in engineering, a field I loved, and even went on to earn a graduate degree. But everything changed when I became a mother in 2023. During the postpartum period, crafting became more than just a way to pass the time—it became my form of meditation, a way to connect with others, and a rare opportunity to do something just for myself. It was during that time that crafting grew into a true passion. In 2024, I took a leap and opened Artfully Crafted Studio, a small business born from the joy and healing I found in crafting, with the goal of bringing that same experience to others in Northern Virginia.
